Mariana Walker was a beloved choir teacher and all her students loved her. She was the choir teacher at Alvin Junior High School. However, Walker became very sick and had to leave school. She went to hospice care at her home. She was in a fierce battle with cancer.
Her students wanted her to feel better. So, the Texas students decided to make her a beautiful surprise by singing her a lovely song at her door. They wanted to prove their love for her. When they arrived, her family opened the door so she could hear them clearly.
videographer Cindi Lee Cooper-Fields explained that this was one of the most touching gestures at all times. You could see friends from all ages gather together to make their teacher feel better. They sang her like angels and she felt their love through their lovely song.
The Texas students sang Hillsong’s “Oceans.” The warm song has beautiful lyrics that clearly describe their feelings at that moment. They all sang her and after that they said a prayer. Minutes later, Walker passed away peacefully. The family went back to find her taking her last breath.
These kind-hearted students helped her through her battle. They also decided to sing for her in the funeral. Lisa Turner Howell, a school worker, described the scene as if she was waiting for her kids. They paid her a proper tribute and commemorated her working life with their beautiful gesture.
Everyone deserves this love in order to be able to pass away knowing they left good memories for their beloved ones.
